The article applies a modified hydro-sedimentological connectivity index (IHC) to assess the spatio-temporal variation of water and sediment connectivity in a subtropical mountainous catchment, identifying sediment transfer and deposition sites for rainfall events of different magnitudes. Results show a positive correlation between mean IHC and total runoff volume (+0.69) and peak discharge (+0.63), indicating progress in representing connectivity — although the method has limitations in representing sediment exhaustion in the catchment.
